FMAC
Seattle Freight Mobility Advisory Committee
The Seattle Freight Mobility Advisory Committee, FMAC, is sponsored by the MIC, the Duwamish TMA, and the City of Seattle's Department of Transportation. MIC members are on the advisory committee as well as other freight related business leaders..
The Freight Mobility Advisory Committee was started in September 2002 to advise elected officials, SDOT and other agencies on measures to improve freight mobility and safety in Seattle. SDOT looks to the local freight community to represent the various modes of transportation of goods and services; to make recommendations, to serve as a forum for exchange between stakeholders and government agency staff and to support the city's implementation of the various strategic plans. Committee members are appointed by the Director of the Seattle Department of Transportation.
Meetings are open to the public and are generally held 8:00-9:30 on the third Tuesday of the month. Monthly meeting locations are scheduled on a rotation basis in the respective north and south industrial centers (see the calendar on the home page).
